Ride with René is not for everyone

The sporting component takes center stage

Fitness, high motivation and good health

Ride with René offers tours that focus on the sporting component.

We do not compete with each other, but work together in a small, exclusive team. That's why a good group dynamic and harmony within the group are very important to us. Ride with René is more than just a “social ride” or “coffee ride”.

We usually move and circulate in a formation of 1 or 2 rows so that everyone has the opportunity to recover while maintaining an appropriate pace to reach the desired average speed.

Especially during the climbs, it's important to be able to maintain your effort limit for longer periods of time. You won't have the opportunity to capture every beautiful spot in your photo album.

As a general rule, summits should be reached together. If the field does spread out a little, you should wait a short while and then continue straight away when you join up. A 20-30 minute break with coffee, snack and toilet is included. Some details can be discussed on the morning of the tour. A short tour briefing is always held over breakfast.

You will have the opportunity to improve your athletic skills and push your own limits while capturing the breathtaking scenery in your memory. To summarize, we will ride our bikes in an incredible yet challenging environment.

To enjoy the gates to the fullest, good health, a sufficient level of fitness and a high level of motivation are essential.

Depending on the route profile, we aim for an average speed of at least 25 km/h. As a guideline I give you: Be able to maintain 3.5W/kg over longer periods of time.

Example:

Man, 75kg = around 265 watts

Woman, 55kg = around 200 watts

You should definitely not turn dark red here.

Important information before your tour

You should have enough clothing with you that is suitable for the season. Don't forget your helmet either.

If you come with your own bike, you should have at least one spare inner tube and a cartridge with you. A bike from our selection will have this equipment.

Bring your own equipment, which you will use on rides. Computer, heart rate monitor etc. A rear light is never a bad idea.

If you use clipless pedals with a power meter and choose a bike from our selection, we can fit these for you.

Bikes from our selection have the following systems:

(Just put the selection in here, right??)

I recommend that you have adequate insurance cover. Ride with René does not cover any costs for personal injury/property damage or financial loss.

Your insurance cover should also include damage to rented and borrowed items. Self-inflicted damage to rental bikes is not covered by Ride with René. Wear and tear not included.

If you cancel or withdraw from your booked tour, the following rules apply:

90 days before the start of the tour: 90% refund.

31 days to 90 days before the start of the tour: 50% refund

from 30 days before the start of the tour: no refund

Important information for your tours

You are responsible for your own food and drink during the tours. It is important that you have enough food and water. While it is often possible to refill your water bottles, it is not always possible to get something to eat quickly.

I recommend that you take enough energy gels with you to prevent hunger. Once you're hungry, it's usually too late.

If there is a breakdown on the way that requires repair on the spot (e.g. flat tire), we will help each other and carry on.

If the damage cannot be repaired by yourself, a free pick-up service is available nearby. If it is your private bike, you can choose a bike from our range (at an additional cost). If you are traveling with a bike from our stock, the exchange is free of charge. The same applies to spare parts that can be supplied (material costs are incurred for your own bike, but not for ours). We provide assembly aids and special tools.

If, contrary to expectations, you should suffer a physical breakdown during a tour, you have the option of completing the stage on your own or being transported to the hotel by the shuttle service.

If the start of a tour is too dangerous for our safety due to adverse weather conditions and the tour is therefore canceled, you will receive a pro rata refund of the costs.

However, we reserve the right to postpone the start of the tour on the same day by a few hours in order to allow the tour to take place. The route can also be changed if necessary. In most cases, light rain poses no significant risk.

A short briefing takes place in the morning before the start of each stage. The GPX files for the day's tour will also be distributed to all participants with a computer/navi.
